The lower part of the Gudenå has, over the years, become incredibly known for its good salmon fishing. The river houses some really nice salmon and every year many people come by to try and get the dream of a very big spring salmon fulfilled.
The season of the Gudenå is longer than the other salmon rivers in Denmark, since in this river you do not fish on a quota. The first run of salmon is already seen in March and every year the river surprises with many beautiful chromers.
In addition to salmon, the Gudenå offers a very varied fishing for many species. seatrout, eel, ide, pike and other species can be fished here. In several places on Gudenåen there is free fishing and only the danish fishing license is required.
