Holtum Å was previously one of Denmark's most sought after dry fly rivers, which housed a good population of large brook trout. After many of the barriers in the river have been removed, the population of the brook trout is somewhat smaller. On the other hand, beautiful seatrout and salmon can be caught. The grayling is still found in the river and is an exciting fish to hunt with the dry fly.
