Hald Sø is a large, deep lake located south of Viborg. At 31 metres, it is actually the third-deepest lake in Denmark. It also has an enormous water volume and is primarily fed by underground springs. The water is exceptionally clear throughout most of the year.
Hald Sø is renowned for its excellent brown trout fishing, which is mainly done from the lake’s traditional rowing boats. The use of motorboats and private boats is prohibited.
The lake is also home to large pike, a healthy population of big perch, whitefish, eels and various other coarse fish. An incredibly beautiful, peaceful and exciting lake to explore!
