Kolindsund Kanal is one of Djursland's most productive streams and especially the northern canal has many good tributaries where the seatrout spawns. Including Ørum Å and Nimtofte Å. The lower part of the river is called Grenåen or Grenen Å.
The river offers a good fishing for seatrout, including smaller seatrout which runs the river during the cold months. In addition, every year many beautiful pike are caught in the canal.
