The upper part of the Gudenå offers some of Denmarks best dry fly water after brook trout and grayling. The many, fine tributaries offer good spawning opportunities for brook and lake trout. From the end of May to the beginning June you can experience large hatches of mayflies and especially our largest May fly, Empera Danica can be seen in a large numbers. Just at that time, you can see the river becoming alive by fish that take plenty of mayflies on the surface.
In the fall and late summer you will be able to experience lake trout pull up through the river to find the spawning grounds.
