Skjern river is with the speed of the current, ideal for fly fishing. The river is known for its large salmon, and not just in Denmark. Every year, many tourists visit the river in the hope of capturing a salmon of a lifetime.
Skjern Å is best known for the recovery project that was carried out from 1999 to 2002. Skjern Å was previously corrected and indulged on the stretch around Borris for expiry. The expansion had serious consequences for the salmon and other fish, and animals in the river system. For many years it was believed that the salmon was extinct in Skjern Å, but fish from the original tribe were fortunately found again and in many years of fishing and water care is now on its way back into the river.
