Furesø is located in North Zealand, relatively close to the center of Copenhagen, and is Denmark's deepest lake. Furesø is part of the Mølleå system and is Zealand's third largest lake, surpassed only by Arresø and Esrum Lake.

Lake Fures offers a fine fishing for predatory fish such as pike, perch and zander. Especially the zander is a sought after fish in Furesø. It is found pelagic in the large bodies of water. The area at the Jydehullet is a good place to start. In the autumn there is a really good fishing for perch at the creek outlet of 3-12 meters of water. In addition to fishing for predatory fish, various coarse fish are found in the lake.
